Winning where it matters: Horse Racing lessons for getting the right education

I am an owner of a remarkable racehorse. His name is Epic, naturally. And he’s won every race he’s entered. Winning when it matters has got me to see parallels in winning in education from the starting gate to the finish line.

eCI Founder Joy and Epic the racehorse

As a racehorse owner, I’ve come to realize that winning isn’t just about speed and power. It’s about strategy and making the right choices at every turn.

Similarly, the journey towards a successful education can be a race of its own. And just like with horse racing, the key to success lies in making the right choices. As a student, you need to carefully select the right school, major, and resources to set yourself up for success. It can be overwhelming, but by weighing up the costs and potential risks, you can take the first leap forward towards the finish line.

But starting well isn’t enough. Just like a horse race, leaving the starting gate in the best possible shape is crucial. And that requires doing the research to find the right fit in the university and program you choose. You need a coach or mentor to guide you through the process, helping you create a solid plan that will get you out of the gates ahead of the pack.

And as you move towards the finish line, it’s important to remember that the right education prepares us for a future filled with possibilities and potential. Just like picking the right horse and right race is crucial for a racehorse owner, it’s equally important for students to choose the right path towards their future.

I want you to win your race, to achieve your dreams and cross that finish line with your head held high.

Remember, just like a racehorse, success in education depends on strategy, hard work, and making the right choices at every turn.

Start well, finish better.

Good luck!
